Our Corporate Social Responsibility

Since our inception, Paycom has remained committed to simplifying life for employees while meeting our clients’ needs in an ever-evolving business landscape. We live that obligation through five values. They guide our organization in everything we do, from HR software to real-world interactions.

We innovate

We win

We care

We serve

We believe

We’re committed to creating a safe and inclusive workplace, giving back to the community and minimizing our environmental impact. As a leader in our industry, we continue to set an example by:

  • caring for our employees and their families with extensive benefits
  • supporting a variety of philanthropic efforts in our communities
  • strengthening our culture through inclusive conversations
  • reducing our environmental impact by creating efficient products and processes

Sustainability and Board Oversight

We believe we have a responsibility to our people, our community and the world in which we operate and that effective management of environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues will help drive long-term growth. Ultimate oversight for sustainability lies with the board. However, the board has delegated formal oversight of social responsibility and environmental sustainability to its Nominating and Corporate Governance (N&CG) committee with additional topics reviewed by other committees as needed. Management provides formal ESG updates to the committee on a quarterly basis.

Our Management Sustainability Committee is a cross-functional group of leaders throughout the company that assists the Co-Chief Executive Officers and Board of Directors in understanding, managing and setting a general strategy relating to sustainability matters and initiatives. Key members of the committee include our Chief Financial Officer and multiple senior leaders from across our company in pertinent departments, including Legal, HR, IT and Accounting.

Security Overview

At Paycom, protecting the security and privacy of all client information is a top priority. We employ comprehensive, in-depth, industry-proven standards and technologies to protect and defend client data in our environment. We take the same degree of care and caution to prevent unauthorized disclosure of client data as we do with our own data, including measures required by applicable privacy law.

Our People

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

At Paycom, we value the unique perspective each employee brings to our company. We strive to provide an inclusive environment that allows each employee to thrive, both in their career and their personal life. From attracting diverse talent to developing our people, diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) is at the center of Paycom’s culture. We support employees of all backgrounds reaching their highest potential. We believe our commitment to DEI results in happier, more productive employees who stay longer and bring more innovative ideas.

Our employee resource groups (ERGs) help people from a variety of backgrounds make connections, find support and give back to our communities while fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace. Each ERG is open to all team members who identify directly or as an ally. More than 20% of Paycom team members have joined one or more ERG. Our ERGs include:

  • Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI)
  • Black Leaders Advancing Culture and Knowledge (BLACK)
  • Abled and Disabled Allies Partnering Together (ADAPT)
  • Hispanic Organization for Leadership Advancement (HOLA)
  • Indigenous
  • Interfaith
  • Paycom Respect Inclusion Diversity and Equality (PRIDE)
  • Military and Veterans in Paycom (MVIP)
  • Multigenerational
  • Women’s
  • Working Parents and Caregivers

Through our Better Conversations series, employees share personal experiences, stories and topics often avoided at work. These sessions create a structured space that encourages dialogue, not debate. Employees can build cultural competency while using the talking/listening boundaries method to interact across differences on current events and polarizing topics.

Better Conversations help employees expand opinions, build capacity to interact and find value across differences. In 2023, Paycom expanded the program by partnering with each ERG to host monthly events. In total, 24 Better Conversations were hosted in 2023, putting 1,149 team members through the program. We are also proud to report that 100% of our leaders have participated in at least one Better Conversations session.

We continue to be transparent in our DEI journey by providing our team member demographic data. We are excited to report “nonbinary” as an option under gender as well as “not specified” for both gender and ethnicity for those who choose not to disclose. As of December 31, 2023, women represented 48.8% of our workforce. Additionally, 36.9% of all team members are from minority ethnic groups. We have also added an LGBTQ+ identity option for our employees and are proud to report that 495 employees identified as LGBTQ+ or ally.

Chart which demonstrates we have nearly equal ratios of male to female, in race and ethnicity we are not as diverse, it is the same in management.

*The data on this page summarizes our workforce demographics as of Dec. 31, 2023. The workforce demographic data, including race and ethnicity, gender, and job categories, aligns with the EEO-1 Component 1 data collection reporting requirements outlined by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, where applicable.

Employee benefits and support

Well-being

Paycom celebrates bringing the “whole person” to work. Our employees are much more than their professional role. We recognize many factors contribute to a positive work environment and employees’ engagement with Paycom. Paycom’s eight-pillar approach accounts for the holistic well-being of employees. Some specific benefits include:

  • a $0 copay for in-network therapy and counseling and $1-per-pay-period individual health insurance
  • on-campus well-being advisors
  • soundproof privacy booths for virtual appointments
  • on-site interfaith spaces
  • weekly companywide guided meditation sessions
  • ERGs
  • financial well-being resources such as generous 401(k) matching and an employee stock purchase plan
  • fully equipped gyms at our Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Grapevine, Texas, campuses

Our community

Charitable Giving

At Paycom, we believe in giving back to the communities where we live and work. We constantly exemplify our values “We care” and “We serve” through volunteering opportunities and charitable giving. We are proud to share that Paycom donated more than $2.3 million in 2023, with more than $220,000 of that coming directly from our employees. More than 350 organizations benefited from these donations across 37 states and Washington, D.C., through small grants, employee giving and corporate sponsorships.

Our World

Environmental Impact

Paycom uses computers, servers and electronic accessories to support our operations. When these items no longer suffice for our business needs, all company data is destroyed and the equipment is recycled or refurbished though a partnership with an Oklahoma company committed to responsible recycling.

Our recycling partner processed 64.72 tons of electronic assets for reuse and/or material recovery. As a result, during the 2023 calendar year, Paycom reduced our environmental impact by:

180,427 lbs. reduced greenhouse gas emissions, 3,721 lbs. diverted toxic metals, 43,715 lbs. recovered metals

We are proud to continue to power our two corporate headquarters with 100% wind energy through the purchase of renewable energy credits. We are committed to reducing energy consumption when possible and rely on several practices to increase energy efficiency. We also encourage our employees to utilize our on-site electric vehicle chargers at no cost. Below is a summary of our estimated electricity consumption for Paycom-owned facilities.
