Employees at Paycom demonstrated their giving spirit this holiday season with sizable donations to many worthy charities.
Moved by an emotion-filled presentation by the Oklahoma Regional Food bank last Fall on its Backpacks for Kids program, Paycom employees nationwide rallied together to make the Holidays specials for children throughout Oklahoma.
During the month of December, Paycom opened its doors to the children of its employees, and created a Winter Wonderland with free photo sessions with Santa Claus to avoid the long lines at the malls. In addition, Paycom employees donated coats to Warmth 4 Winter, and adopted families from the Salvation Army Angel Tree.
“When I was growing up we didn’t have a lot which in turn made me grow up appreciating what was given to me,” said Sandy Doherty, Senior New Client Setup Admin. “Now, as an adult, God has given me the opportunity to give back and I’m lucky enough to work for a company that believes in giving back to the community too.”
Paycom employees chose three regional charities to donate to this year. Employee donations were tallied at $12,565 and were matched at 150% by Paycom. Randy Peck, Paycom Director of Operations donated a $500 Best Buy gift card to the charities which brought the grand total to $31,400.
The amount was distributed three ways between the following charities: Anna’s House, Oklahoma City; Oklahoma Regional Food Bank’s Food for Kids Backpack Program, Oklahoma City and the Children’s Advocacy Center of Dallas.
“Working for a company that participates in giving back to charity and matching their employees’ gifts makes being a Paycom employee very satisfying,” said Rachel Meador, Recruiting Administrative Assistant.
