OKLAHOMA CITY (Mar. 25, 2024) — Paycom Software, Inc. (NYSE: PAYC), a leading provider of comprehensive, cloud-based human capital management software, recently donated $50,000 for Oklahoma Women in Technology (OKWIT) through its monthly employee giving program.
“As a leader at a technology company, I am excited we are donating to a cause that supports other Oklahoma women working in STEM fields,” said Rachael Gannon, executive vice president of product at Paycom. “This donation represents our employees’ commitment to empower women in the workforce by providing access to resources.”
In 2023, Paycom funded an OKWIT scholarship for a female high school student pursuing a STEM career. Building on this commitment, this latest donation will expand educational opportunities for young women in Oklahoma through scholarships, retreats and initiatives fostering leadership and development for women in STEM careers across the state.
“OKWIT is a volunteer-driven organization dedicated to supporting women in STEM through scholarships, educational programs and professional development opportunities,” said Alli Rodgers, president of Oklahoma Women in Technology. “We rely solely on the generosity of donors like Paycom to make our mission a reality.”
Paycom’s commitment to supporting women is evident with nearly half of its employee base identifying as female and over half in leadership roles. Benefits geared toward women and families include partnerships for discounted child care, dedicated nursing rooms at its offices, generous parental leave and support services for employees navigating pregnancy, adoption, postpartum and more.
Gannon, a single mother who has worked her way from entry level to executive level at Paycom, is inspired to help other women who may not feel supported at work.
“As a company rooted in empowering its people and supporting women, we are actively working toward shifting the unfortunate statistic that women make up only a third of the STEM workforce in the United States,” said Gannon.
Paycom’s employee giving program supports a multitude of local and national causes, including youth programming, mental health treatment, programs for individuals living with disabilities and food support for individuals and children needing assistance. Paycom selects a wide range of nonprofits connecting to national awareness months every year so employees can donate to an organization that’s close to their heart.
OKWIT is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to bridge the gap between genders in STEM fields through networking opportunities, while educating and encouraging young women to continue their interest and studies in STEM fields.
