OKLAHOMA CITY (Sept. 24, 2021) – Paycom Software, Inc., (NYSE:PAYC), a leading provider of comprehensive, cloud-based human capital management software, donated $10,000 each to American Red Cross®, Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City and The Spero Project to support humanitarian efforts surrounding the recent Afghanistan refugee crisis.
“Paycom is proud to support these organizations and their efforts to provide refugee relief,” said AJ Griffin, Paycom’s director of government and community affairs. “The services provided by these three organizations will help refugees as they work to create a new life in Oklahoma City.”
The donation will help connect Afghan refugees with vital resources like job development, school liaisons, emergency lodging and more. Additionally, funds will support Hurricane Ida relief.
“We are grateful for Paycom’s help in making OKC a city of welcome,” said Kaitlyn Ritchie, The Spero Project’s director of programs. “These funds will go directly to welcoming Afghan arrivals with access to language services, immigration support, transportation, trauma-informed care, job development and more.”
Oklahoma City will welcome at least 1,000 refugees from Afghanistan through the federal Afghan support program over the next six months. With Paycom’s support, the Oklahoma City organizations will provide Afghan refugees resources, learning opportunities and vital connections to English classes, job development, transportation, translation services, school liaisons and more.
“We are thankful for Paycom’s generous donation, ensuring no one faces emergencies alone,” said Alice Townsend, regional chief executive officer serving the Kansas and Oklahoma Red Cross. “Paycom’s support will help provide safe emergency lodging and meals, distribute relief items to people in need, issue emergency financial assistance and provide long-term recovery services.”
American Red Cross, in partnership with the Department of Defense, provides emergency shelter, hot meals and personal care items to evacuees. Funds for the Red Cross will also help with Hurricane Ida relief.
“This donation to assist arrivals from Afghanistan is just one example of Paycom stepping up,” said Patrick Raglow, Catholic Charities executive director. “Our new neighbors will need the assistance of many partners in the weeks and months ahead, and we are grateful to Paycom for once again setting the example.”
